Lighthouse Point is a smaller waterfront municipality located 10 minutes south of Mizner Park in Boca Raton. This area is well known for being an excellent family residential area and is located half way between Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton in Broward County. The waterfront homes for sale in Lighthouse Point generally start out around $550,000 and go well over $6 million for the more elaborate luxury waterfront mansions. The two more popular neighborhoods here are Venetian Isles and Lake Placid, both of which are non-gated but closer knit communities. One of the benefits of living in these areas is the monitored video surveillance cameras, which record all activity coming into and going out of the communities. 
Deerfield Beach is a low key waterfront community located on the border of Boca Raton in Broward County. Deerfield Beach is about a 5 minute drive from Mizner Park in east Boca Raton. This area lies just off of Hillsboro Blvd between Federal Highway and the Atlantic Ocean. The area is bordered on the south by Lighthouse Point, and there are plenty of waterfront homes and condos available in this area. Deerfield Beach is generally known to be an area with more affordable homes, though there are some beautiful, higher priced waterfront properties available here. 3. Hillsboro Shores
Hillsboro Shores is a waterfront community which lies directly east of Lighthouse Point in between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. There are many waterfront homes available in this smaller, more private community. Though this is not a gated community, the homes here are nestled away and are not exposed to much “thru” traffic. This area is home to the scenic lighthouse for which Lighthouse Point is named. The homes for sale here typically start out around $600,000, though homes have been sold for less in short sales. 
Pompano Beach is home to some beautiful waterfront homes located on deep water with private dockage and no fixed bridges. Pompano Beach is approximately 12-15 minutes south of Mizner Park in east Boca Raton and is located next door to Fort Lauderdale. The waterfront homes here are considered far more affordable on average than those located in Boca Raton, though short sale homes would be the exception to this rule of thumb. 
5. Delray Beach
Delray Beach is a beautiful waterfront community lying on the northern border of Boca Raton. This smaller area is located only 10-15 minutes north of Lake Boca and is well known for the beautiful downtown area. There are many beautiful single family homes and condos for sale in Delray Beach, along with waterfront homes located on quiet streets. Delray Beach has a lively culture with an artistic flair and many annual family events held within the community.
